Blue Origin in Washington is seeking an avionics engineer to design, develop, and qualify mission-critical harnesses for the New Glenn program. You will work hands-on across engineering, fabrication, installation and testing of electrical harnesses for spaceflight systems.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 5+ years harness design experience in aerospace, and fluency with 3D CAD tools such as Creo, Windchill and RSD.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical or an appropriate engineering field.
• 5+ years designing wire harnesses for aerospace.
• Experience with Creo, Windchill and RSD.
• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620A and NASA-STD-8739.4.
• Desirable: 7+ years in launch vehicles or spacecraft.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical harnesses for power distribution, RF, comms and high-speed data signals.
• Select harness components, connectors, and backshells.
• Apply EMI/RFI shielding concepts.
• Create 3D routed harness data with Creo Cabling and RSD.
• Produce harness detail and installation drawings from 3D data.
• Design harness support brackets and integrate them.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Provide guidance for hardware installation.
• Support assembly and testing of cables and harnesses.
• Maintain schedule and technical status.
• Identify opportunities for cost and schedule savings.
