Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced engineer to lead the development, qualification, and production testing of avionics harness components for the New Glenn program. You will author procedures, plan test campaigns, and collaborate with harness designers, manufacturing, and integration teams to ensure quality and safety.

The role emphasizes test execution, data analysis, and documentation, with travel up to 25% for testing laboratories.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in component testing and data analysis.
  • Experience testing avionics connectors, wires/cables, backshells, EMI/grounding hardware.
  • Experience authoring test plans, procedures, and reports to industry standards (MIL-STD-202, MIL-STD-810, EIA-364, NASA-STD-8739.4).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; capable of executive-level dialogue.
  • U.S. citizen or eligible per regulations (citizenship requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and execute qualification and production tests for avionics harness components and subassemblies, including connectors, cable, backshells, and EMI/grounding hardware.
  • Author, maintain, and continuously improve test procedures, test plans, and test reports.
  • Perform test readiness reviews, pre-test briefings, and post-test data reviews to verify campaign success.
  • Identify, procure, and manage test fixtures, test support equipment, and data acquisition systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support failure analysis and implement corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
  • Track and manage test campaign schedules across multiple programs and identify risks.
  • Maintain accurate test records, configuration documentation, and traceability.
  • Serve as SME for harness component testing within Avionics, supporting broader qualification efforts.
