Job summary

SimVentions is seeking a mid-level to senior software-focused Systems Engineer to perform software systems engineering for aviation programs. This on-site role is based at the NAVAIR base in Pax River, MD.

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required, with potential for Top Secret later. U.S. citizenship is required. The position is future funded and not expected to begin before September 1, 2026.

Qualifications

• At least ten years experience performing software and systems engineering activities.
• Experience with military aircraft avionic systems and/or software.
• DOD-STD-2167A/MIL-STD-498/IEEE 12207 experience is a plus.
• Systems Software, Systems-of-Systems engineering, MBSE, or systems safety & reliability preferred.
• Agile software development processes familiarity is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software requirements
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration
• Conduct analysis of software defects
• Coordinate with cybersecurity subject Matter experts
• Participate in System Engineering Technical Reviews (SRRs, SSRs, PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, etc.)
• Support the Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) process
• Participate in Agile and SAFe team processes
• Prepare and review Statements of Work (SOWs) and Contract Deliverable Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
• Develop Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs)
• Support technical evaluations of Contractor proposals
