Job summary

VSE Aviation is seeking a Safety Wire Technician III to serve as the technical resource for the production team. The role installs safety wire and seals on general and commercial aviation components, preserving parts per manufacturer data and FAA guidelines.

You will train new hires and ensure all work meets quality standards. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, performing final inspections, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 2 years of related work experience in lieu of degree.
• 2 years of relevant/technical work experience required.
• Experience installing aviation safety wire and safety cable.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow CMMs, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Able to use hand tools and PPE safely.

Responsibilities

• Install safety wire, seals, and safety cable on aviation components after final function tests.
• Preserve components per maintenance manuals.
• Review documentation before transfer to next stage.
• Document maintenance records.
• Provide safety wire training to new hires.
• Monitor inventory of preservation materials.
• Assist with process improvement and support Production Coordinator.
• Ensure compliance with FAA data and quality standards.
