Job summary
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Aviation Planner to lead complex airport planning projects in Raleigh, NC. The role emphasizes landside planning, airport access, parking and curbside analyses, and terminal-area studies with expertise in VISSIM traffic modelling.
The ideal candidate holds a relevant degree (Master's preferred) and 15 years of airport planning experience, with strong FAA regulatory knowledge and proven client engagement skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Airport Planning, Aviation Management, Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or related field.
- Master's degree preferred for advanced roles.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive airport planning experience, including leadership of complex studies.
- Experience preparing Airport Master Plans, Airport Layout Plans (ALPs), aviation demand forecasts, and feasibility studies.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, advisory circulars, and airport design standards.
- Experience with landside planning analyses including access, parking, and ground transportation planning.
Responsibilities
- Lead airport planning studies for commercial service, reliever, and general aviation airports.
- Prepare and manage Airport Master Plans and ALPs, forecasts, and feasibility studies.
- Conduct landside planning analyses: access, curbside operations, parking, rental car facilities, and ground transport.
- Evaluate needs and develop strategic planning recommendations balancing operations and growth.
- Coordinate with airport stakeholders, airlines, government agencies, and consultant teams.
