Job summary

The candidate will require a PE license, 7 years post-BS or 6 years post-MS experience, and aviation background. Strong technical writing, communication, and potential PM training are essential for success.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Engineering; M.S. or graduate coursework preferred.
• Seven years post-BS or six years post-MS engineering experience.
• P.E. license is required.
• Aviation experience is required.
• Proven technical writing and communication skills; project management training possible.
• Client service, communication, innovation, teamwork and professionalism.
• Ability to visit project sites and plan, prioritize, and review project plans.

Responsibilities

• Performs project design and sketches concepts for junior engineers or technicians.
• Plans and reviews engineering drawings, specifications, investigations and planning work.
• Develops plans and criteria for new projects and weighs alternatives.
• Analyzes and solves technical problems; develops alternative approaches.
• Prepares cost, manpower estimates, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinates with project manager and guides junior professionals on design and drafting.
• Ensures quality control and reviews work; may manage projects occasionally.
• Consults with supervisor on unusual problems and developments.
• Interfaces with clients, senior staff and regulatory agencies as needed.
