Job summary

Buro Happold is seeking an Associate Principal Electrical Engineer to lead aviation projects in a hybrid setup in New York City or Pittsburgh. The role emphasizes technical leadership, client relationships and BD within aviation, with oversight of electrical design, coordination, and compliance across complex projects.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in electrical design, 10+ years in aviation, and strong skills in AutoCAD, Revit, AGI or DIALux; PE preferred.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of electrical engineering design experience in building services/construction.
• 10+ years of aviation experience.
• Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
• FAA requirements and airport operations knowledge.
• PE license preferred and LEED AP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and project leadership on complex aviation projects.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, and resources.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and pursue aviation business opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with codes and policies; oversee design deliverables.
• Lead project teams and monitor workload and expenditures.
