Job summary

Buro Happold in New York City or Pittsburgh seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for aviation projects. You will drive technical leadership, coordinate with clients and architects, and manage resources across diverse teams to deliver high-quality, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of electrical design experience for buildings/infrastructure.
• 5+ years on airport/aviation projects.
• Experience as primary electrical discipline lead on aviation projects.
• Senior-level MEP experience in an architectural/engineering environment.
• Relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• PE licensure desirable.
• LEED AP accreditation preferred.
• Experience using Revit and Computational tools.
• Excellent client-facing, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary electrical discipline lead on medium to large aviation projects.
• Lead design and technical specification of electrical systems with high-quality delivery.
• Manage project resources, deliverables, and client relationships.
• Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated design solutions.
• Guide graduates and junior engineers through their professional development.
• Communicate directly with clients and build strong, lasting client relationships.
• Ensure designs align with client objectives and comply with legislation and codes.
• Identify project challenges and develop practical solutions.
