Job summary
Truist is seeking a Sr. Availability & Reliability Engineering Manager to lead a software engineering team focused on platform reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
You will translate strategic objectives into executable roadmaps, drive tooling and automation, and collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and architecture teams to improve system health. The role emphasizes leadership, coaching, and strategic alignment with enterprise goals, fostering a culture of accountability
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience with significant leadership.
- Advanced management and leadership experience.
- Developing expertise in software architecture, development lifecycle, and technology strategy.
Responsibilities
- Implements and refines tactical and operational plans for a software engineering team.
- Manages lower-level managers and experienced ICs responsible for design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Applies and improves technology standards, governance practices, and engineering methods.
- Provides data and feedback to senior leadership on team performance and opportunities for improvement.
- Develops and coaches managers and senior ICs, setting expectations and feedback.
- Leads process, tooling, and system improvements to streamline workflows and reliability.
- Ensures risk management and regulatory compliance for software development within scope.
