May Mobility in Ann Arbor, MI seeks a Senior Systems Engineer II to lead the definition, optimization, and validation of next-generation Autonomous Vehicle capabilities. You will bridge high-level autonomy goals and actionable system requirements, designing complex scenario-based test suites in simulated and on-road environments, and building automated KPI-driven reporting pipelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 6+ years of automotive systems engineering experience in software/hardware.
• 3+ years in autonomous driving or ADAS systems engineering.
• Strong knowledge of automotive and autonomous vehicle technologies.
• Experience developing behavioral simulations for AV/ADAS features.
• Experience with Python, SQL and data analysis tools (Pandas, NumPy, Spark).
• Masters degree or equivalent is desirable.
• Startup experience is desirable.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, SOTIF and HARA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define, document and manage system and capability-level requirements with end-to-end traceability.
• Conduct OD D and route analyses to shape AV driving capabilities.
• Ensure scenarios meet industry standards and regulatory frameworks.
• Lead driving simulation portfolio for comprehensive validation across the ODD.
• Create on-road and simulated test scenarios to evaluate autonomy features.
• Analyze real-world and simulation results to identify performance trends.
• Define simulation specifications for cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes.
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
