Job summary

AVI-SPL is seeking an Installation Technician 3 to perform installation tasks for contracted projects, including cable pulls, terminations, rack fabrication, and wiring layout. You will lead and direct installation crews on larger, complex projects, coordinating with the Project Manager to meet time, scope, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction goals.

You will mentor junior technicians, interpret schematics, test systems, and support engineers on programming changes.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present technical information
• High level of professionalism and work ethic with commitment to quality
• Advanced understanding of audio-visual systems including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, and control systems
• Advanced proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber) and related wiring methods
• Ability to lead and mentor junior technicians and manage site teams on large complex projects
• AVIXA CTS General Certification is required

Responsibilities

• Lead installation crews on larger, more complex AV projects
• Mentor Level 1 and Level 2 Technicians on site
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
• Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors
• Test cabling and validate system functionality on site
• Support engineers with programming changes on site
• Track and secure all equipment and tools on site
• Communicate daily job site status to Project Manager
• Coordinate with other trades and liaise with customers
• Travel to various job sites as required
