Job summary

Torc Robotics, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own and advance the Autonomy Core Frameworks that underpin our autonomous truck platform. You will drive architecture, real-time C++ components, and scalable patterns while collaborating with Behavior and Perception teams to ensure safe, performant operation.

You will mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and champion testing, observability, and production readiness across the stack, shaping the platform’s long-term direction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with 8+ years of software experience, or Master’s with 6+ years.
  • Proven ownership of architectural decisions in production software.
  • Deep experience with C++17+ and modern C++.
  • Experience with middleware pub-sub patterns in autonomous/robotics contexts.
  • Strong testing, CI, and build-system discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture, design, and evolution of core autonomy frameworks for the driving stack.
  • Drive real-time C++ architecture and robust data flow across components.
  • Define scalable patterns and long-term design decisions for platform-wide impact.
  • Collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams to ensure clean integration boundaries.
  • Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and establish scalable engineering standards.
  • Mentor engineers and raise technical excellence across the organization.
  • Champion testing, observability, and production-readiness for platform reliability.
  • Contribute to root-cause analysis and framework validation across scenarios.
