Job summary

Torc Robotics is seeking a Senior Autonomy Core Frameworks Software Engineer to architect and advance the foundational frameworks of its autonomous driving stack. You will own the software architecture, drive real-time C++ components, and raise the bar on code quality while collaborating across Behavior and Perception teams.

Applicants should have 8+ years of software experience (or a master's with 6+ years), deep C++17 expertise, ROS 2 familiarity, and a background in distributed systems.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience or 6+ with a master's degree.
• Experience designing complex production software platforms with ownership of architectural decisions.
• Deep experience with C++17 and modern standards.
• Experience with robotics/autonomy or distributed systems.
• Strong testing, CI, and build systems experience.
• Mentoring engineers and leading architecture reviews.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, and evolution of core frameworks for the autonomy stack.
• Drive real-time C++ components for reliable data flow and observability.
• Define scalable architectural patterns and long-term design decisions.
• Collaborate with Behavior and Perception teams to maintain clean integration.
• Lead architecture reviews, code reviews, and establish engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and elevate technical excellence across the organization.
• Ensure platform robustness through validation, testing, and observability.
• Contribute to root cause analysis and platform-wide improvements.
• Define and evolve simulation and validation frameworks for testing.
