Persona AI is seeking a Senior Robotics Software Engineer - Autonomy to design and build the autonomy stack for industrial humanoids. The role spans simulation through shop-floor deployment, emphasizing world-model-based planning and safe, explainable behavior.

You will train world models in digital twins and refine behavior before real deployments, ensuring reliability and performance in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years of robotics experience with a focus on autonomy.
• 2+ years applying world models to planning, reasoning, and scene understanding.
• Experience with plan execution like behavior trees and state machines.
• World model benchmarking and post-training in robotics.
• Strong Python and C++ foundations; git, code review, CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design autonomy and behavior coordination algorithms for an industrial humanoid platform.
• Collaborate with manipulation, locomotion, and perception teams to integrate skills.
• Develop plan execution approaches blending classical control and learned policies.
• Create reactive, safe, adaptable, and explainable behavior execution.
• Build data curation pipelines for robot understanding of real tasks.
• Develop synthetic data pipelines for post-training world models.
• Create evaluation pipelines for autonomous behavior benchmarking and regression testing.
