Job summary

May Mobility in Ann Arbor, Michigan, seeks an experienced Senior Robotics Software Engineer to design, implement, and test state-of-the-art robotics software for Autonomous Vehicles using C/C++ in a Linux environment. You will lead code quality activities and collaborate across teams to define behavior and control subsystems.

You will work with data science to capture KPIs, develop unit and simulation tests, and contribute to on‑vehicle testing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
7+ years of industry experience on real-world robot systems delivering critical functions
Experience in robot behavior planning, decision making, path planning, probabilistic reasoning, and localization
Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Linux
Familiarity with Git, Valgrind, and GDB

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and test robotics software in C/C++ for Autonomous Vehicles
Lead and participate in code quality activities including design and code reviews
Provide technical guidance to Technical Support Team
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop software and system requirements
Collaborate with data science to design metrics for KPIs of subsystems
Develop unit and simulation tests and validate vehicle performance
Coordinate on-vehicle tests for real-world validation
Diagnose issues from field data and support operations
Develop tools and visualizations for performance analysis
