Job summary

May Mobility, based in Ann Arbor, MI, is hiring for an autonomous vehicle software role focusing on ML model training, integration, and on-vehicle testing. You will optimize systems for reliability and latency, coordinating real-world tests and diagnosing field issues.

Ideal candidates have robotics software experience, CS/CE degree, and strong C/C++/Python skills in Linux, plus familiarity with perception systems and standard tools like Git, Valgrind, and GDB.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years experience with robotics software for physical systems in a commercial environment.
• Basic understanding of ML concepts: training, architectures, data selection.
• Familiarity with perception systems (lidar, camera, radar) and hardware interfaces.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++/Python in Linux environments.
• Knowledge of software fundamentals: memory management, threading, databases, networking.
• Experience with common tools: git, valgrind, gdb.

Responsibilities

• Train, integrate and test machine learning models for on-vehicle autonomy software.
• Optimize and monitor on-vehicle software for reliability and latency.
• Coordinate and execute on-vehicle tests to validate autonomous systems in real-world scenarios.
• Diagnose root causes of issues reported by operations via field response processes.
• Design data collection strategies to address ML model deficiencies.
• Develop tools and visualizations to help support engineers analyze performance from field data.
