Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and mentor a shop team. You will interact with customers, explain issues and proposed solutions, and drive customer care and satisfaction.

The role requires 3+ years of diagnostic and repair experience, ASE certifications, and the ability to work days, nights, and weekends. A strong customer-focused attitude and leadership in the shop are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from: A1 Engine Repair, A6 Electrical, A7 HVAC, A8 Engine Performance, L1 Advanced Engine Performance).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals including customers as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay current with automotive tech.
