Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, delivering superior service while educating customers on fixes. This role emphasizes leadership, mentoring, and a customer-focused approach in a fast-paced shop.

You will handle complex diagnostics, guide a team to maintain high quality standards, and uphold safety and store policies, with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certs preferred (A4 and A5, plus two from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, primary/advanced fuel ignition and electrical systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician roles (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or colleagues as required.
• Learn new automotive techniques in formal training to stay current.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
