Job summary

Bridgestone Americas, within Bridgestone Retail Operations in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Senior Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a team toward higher customer care. A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered for first-time hires, with a pay range of $19.57–$33.47 per hour under a flat-rate model.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing brake/hydraulic and electrical systems, staying current with automotive tech, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license at all times.
• Demonstrated skill in brakes and hydraulics and/or steering & suspension/alignments.
• Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
• Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
• Reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications - brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through continuous paid formal training.
• Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least three of A1–A8 within first two years of employment.
