Job summary

Bridgestone Retail Operations in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Lead Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems while using leadership to drive a team toward enhanced customer care and satisfaction. The role includes a $2,000 sign-on bonus for first-time hires and a pay range of $22.90–$48.16 per hour, with flat-rate pay reflecting task-based earnings.

You will stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training and have the opportunity to obtain ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Skilled in brakes diagnosis/repair.
• Skilled in alignment, steering & suspension diagnosis/repair.
• Skilled in general automotive maintenance & tire repair.
• Current federal, state and local certification/license where applicable.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people.
• Reading, writing and math skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications - brakes, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals.
• Stay current with automotive technology through paid formal training.
• Assist and train technicians in performing technical activities.
• Obtain or maintain ASE certifications in at least five of A1–A8 within two years (fees paid; bonuses for tests).
