Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, validate, deploy, and maintain an agnostic software tool chain that supports multiple GM vehicle architectures. You will own the technical direction of the tool chain and translate complex vehicle scenarios into lower‑level simulated environments for testing and validation.

You will lead requirements, analysis, development, and testing across programs; mentor junior engineers; promote best practices; and collaborate with Tier 1

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Python and/or C# in automotive/embedded environments.
• Experience with serial data and complex vehicle scenarios.
• Experience with software tool chains and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical solution development including requirements, analysis, development, and testing for programs.
• Lead software system design activities and software anomaly correction efforts.
• Perform complex design analysis.
• Promote and support software engineering best practices across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive a culture of continuous learning.
• Stay current on industry best practices and automotive software trends.
• Develop and maintain test tools for serial data CAN and Ethernet communication across vehicle architectures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Tier 1 suppliers, manufacturing, and integration teams.
• Design, develop, and execute performance validation strategies and tests for features and systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and root cause analysis reports.
