Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in the Warren/Milford, MI area for a hybrid role focused on serial data and vehicle architecture. The candidate will drive the tool chain, support multiple GM architectures, and translate complex vehicle scenarios into testable simulations.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands-on Python and/or C#, familiarity with Vector CAPL scripts, and experience building software tool chains.

Qualifications

5–7 years of hands-on Python and/or C# experience.
Strong experience with Vector CAPL scripts.
Experience developing and maintaining software tool chains.
Strong understanding of serial data and complex vehicle scenarios.
Ability to translate vehicle scenarios into lower-level simulated environments.

Responsibilities

Lead technical solution development, requirements definition, analysis, development and testing for programs.
Lead software system design and software anomaly correction.
Develop and maintain test tools for serial data CAN and Ethernet communications.
Collaborate with Tier 1 suppliers and internal teams to enable software integration.
Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in software engineering.
