Job summary

General Motors in Warren, MI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance in-vehicle Ethernet networks and automation. You will work with both physical and virtual test assets, focusing on functional verification and performance metrics to ensure robust network health across complex architectures.

Qualifications

• Experience with programming languages such as Python, Rust or C++.
• Knowledge of computer networking protocols and automotive Ethernet technologies.
• Experience with software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.
• Proven ability to learn new technical areas
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Deploy test automation across physical and virtual test assets.
• Develop solutions for assessment of temporal behavior for networks under test.
• Develop test automation for validation of core elements across a full-stack Ethernet solution.
• Integrate released software builds with network test infrastructure to improve end-to-end health assessment.
• Perform functional and temporal evaluation of networking protocols (gPTP, QoS, SOME/IP, etc.).
• Evaluate new hardware/software to support next-gen architectures.
