Job summary

Performance Seats, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer in Clinton Township, MI to develop, maintain and improve control systems essential to the production of automotive seating. You will troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and manage documentation for controls hardware and software.

The role requires 5 years of related experience, familiarity with Allen-Bradley RS Logix, and a willingness to work off shifts and overtime as needed. Automotive experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5 years of controls engineering experience in manufacturing, automotive preferred.
• Experience diagnosing hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical interfaces with electrical systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley RS Logix software and PanelView development.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to work off shifts/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and improve control systems for automotive seating production.
• Troubleshoot PLC ladder logic and data handling in ControlLogix processors.
• Maintain PLC documentation and archive programs/drawings as received from suppliers.
• Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, I/O devices, sensors and servo drives.
• Back up robot programs and develop preventive maintenance processes.
• Interpret electrical drawings and schematics to diagnose malfunctions.
• Plan process impacts of engineering changes and support root-cause actions.
• Contribute to equipment purchase specifications and review control drawings.
