Job summary

Adient is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our automotive seating operations. You will develop, maintain and improve automation control systems across production lines, focusing on PLCs, data handling, and safety compliance.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting PLCs (RS Logix 5000, ControlLogix), maintaining documentation, backups, preventive maintenance, and supporting plant reliability. A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field and experience in

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
Experience as a Controls Engineer in a manufacturing setting desired.
Experience with Allen Bradley RS Logix 5000, ControlLogix and PanelView software required.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot equipment issues, including PLC ladder logic and data handling in ControlLogix.
Maintain PLC documentation and archive programs and drawings.
Maintain, repair and improve automated equipment to meet production and safety goals.
Support I/O devices, HMIs, sensors, relays, servo drives, and pneumatic circuits.
Improve equipment uptime and plant reliability; schedule backups and preventive maintenance.
Participate in 8D or similar root-cause problem solving to resolve abnormalities.
Assist with equipment purchase specifications and review drawings.
