Job summary

Novelis is seeking a Senior Technical Development Engineer in Novi, Michigan. The role leads multi-functional product and process development from concept to production, advising OEMs and internal teams on alloy choices, forming, joining, and applications.

You will drive trials, analyze results with engineering methods, and communicate clear recommendations to improve quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction across North American automotive operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Materials, Metallurgical, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mechanics, or related field.
• 8–10 years in automotive sheet metal, aluminum product/process development, manufacturing, or technical service.
• Expertise in aluminum sheet products and forming, joining, surface, or qualification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-functional product and process development from concept through production.
• Plan plant, lab, and customer trials; analyze results and translate into actions.
• Advise OEMs and internal teams on alloy, surface, and application requirements.
