Job summary

Novelis, a leader in aluminum recycling and rolling, is seeking a Product Performance Engineer for our Bay Minette, Alabama facility. You will support qualification and ongoing customer support of beverage can and automotive sheet products, coordinating with Manufacturing, Commercial, and Technical Service to ensure products meet customer expectations.

The role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical, chemical or materials engineering, at least 3 years in aluminum sheet manufacturing or can-making,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, chemical or materials engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in aluminum sheet manufacturing or beverage can-making operations.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in statistical analysis and process capability evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Be a role model for safety and zero-injury culture.
• Coordinate qualification programs for beverage/can packaging products.
• Serve as Voice of the Customer for Bay Minette and communicate customer requirements and product performance.
• Coordinate transfer of newly qualified products into production.
• Monitor mechanical properties, gauge control, surface quality, and coating performance.
• Lead root cause investigations and coordinate corrective actions with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, IATF 16949:2016, and ASI where applicable.
