Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. in Brown Deer, WI is seeking a Senior Automation & Robotic Cell Design Engineer to lead ground-up machine architecture for high-speed automated equipment and robotic work cells, in a 100% on-site setting.

You will develop concepts with Project Managers, guide internal detailers and external fabricators, and ensure design integrity, safety, and manufacturability, with a clear path toward senior leadership.

Qualifications

• BSME or 5–10 years of ground-up custom equipment design experience in heavy machinery or high-speed automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design integrity for high-speed machinery and robotic cells.
• Develop concepts and collaborate with Project Managers to brainstorm cost-effective automated solutions.
• Guide internal detailers/designers and coordinate with external fabrication partners.
• Integrate fluid power and drive systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, servo systems).
• Conduct design reviews to eliminate safety hazards and ergonomic issues.
• Collaborate with clients and manage BOM releases on the assembly floor.
