Job summary

AdvanSix seeks a Lead Automation and Process Control Engineer in Hopewell, VA to lead DCS configuration and enhancements across Honeywell Experion and Fisher Provox. You will implement APC, alarm management, and process monitoring, collaborating with operations to improve efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities include designing control configurations, troubleshooting, developing HMIs, maintaining documentation, and supporting capital projects with IT/OT teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Electrical Engineering with process control experience.
• 5+ years in chemical process manufacturing.
• Experience with Honeywell Experion preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide off-hours on-call support.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-motivated and accountable.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement control system configuration for Honeywell Experion and Fisher Provox.
• Improve control strategies to reduce cost and increase productivity.
• Troubleshoot process control issues including interlocks and networking.
• Develop HMI graphics for operator efficiency.
• Support lifecycle alignment with manufacturing strategies.
• Assist capital project processes for automation scope.
• Plan and execute short- and long-term automation activities.
• Maintain technical documentation for automation standards.
• Collaborate with IT/OT engineers for implementation.
• Train engineers on basic control and HMI configuration.
• Ensure control software and hardware up-to-date.
