Job summary

Honeywell is seeking an Automation/Instrumentation professional to program and maintain control systems for refinery operations. You will act as SME, guiding the modernization from Honeywell DCS to Experion during live plant operations while ensuring safety and minimal downtime.

The role requires collaboration with Instrumentation Technicians to troubleshoot field issues, tune control loops, and support console operators. Location includes Detroit, MI and travel to US sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field (foreign degree accepted).
• 5+ years in Automation/Instrumentation/System Engineering roles.
• Experience with Honeywell DCS upgrades and migration projects.

Job description

Responsible for programming and maintaining the control systems used to maintain the Honeywell DCS system in a refinery; serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and assist management in making decisions regarding the modernization of the legacy Honeywell DCS system to the Honeywell Experion DCS system during live plant operations; ensure that plant operations continue safely and without disruption during the upgrade process; utilize Honeywell Experion PKS, Honeywell TDC 3000, Honeywell Control Builder, Honeywell Quick Builder, HMIWeb Display Builder, C300 configuration and application development, on-process Experion release migration, LCN to ELCN migration, UCN to EUCN migration, HPM configuration and application development, DCS virtualization, and Modbus integration to perform duties; support the Process Control Network (PCN) infrastructure, network security, and backup systems; work with Instrumentation Technicians to troubleshoot issues in the field; and tune control loops and assist console operators.

Location: Detroit, MI and various unanticipated worksites throughout the US;

Salary: $235,000 per year;

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or in a related field of study (will accept equivalent foreign degree);

Experience: Five (5) years in the position above, as an Automation Engineer, as an Instrumentation Engineer, as a System Engineer, or in a related occupation;

Other Requirements:

Experience must include one (1) year’s use of all the following: Honeywell Experion PKS, Honeywell TDC 3000, Honeywell Control Builder, Honeywell Quick Builder, HMIWeb Display Builder, C300 configuration and application development, on-process Experion release migration, LCN to ELCN migration, UCN to EUCN migration, HPM configuration and application development, DCS virtualization, and Modbus integration.
