Job summary

The Chemours Company is seeking an MT Automation & Process Control Engineer at the Fayetteville Works site in Fayetteville, NC. This role focuses on automation, process control, instrumentation, and electrical systems to improve safety, quality, yield, and uptime.

The engineer will troubleshoot DCS/PLC systems, support capital projects, and collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to deploy robust control strategies.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering with 5+ years in automation and process control.
• Electrical or chemical engineering backgrounds preferred; other disciplines considered with strong controls experience.
• Experience troubleshooting DCS and PLC in manufacturing environments; basic programming for diagnostics.
• Knowledge of motors, drives, and low‑voltage controls; industrial instrumentation (flow, pressure, temp, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide automation, electrical, instrumentation, and process‑control support to manufacturing operations.
• Develop and implement automation modifications and capital projects.
• Configure, modify, and troubleshoot DCS and PLC systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control‑system issues affecting plant operations.
• Serve as alarm and interlock guardian for the assigned area.
• Implement corporate automation standards and directives.
• Support RCFA activities involving electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment.
• Provide technical coaching and training to plant personnel.
