Job summary

Delta ModTech in Ramsey, MN seeks a Senior Technical Operations Manager to lead project management and technician groups delivering complex machinery on time and within budget. The role bridges engineering, production, supply chain, and customer-facing functions to ensure safe, high-quality execution.

The position requires a BS in engineering, 8+ years in custom machinery or automation, 5+ years in project leadership, and 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical teams. Travel < 10%. Core hours Mon–Fri, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
• 8+ years of experience in custom machinery design and build, or automation environments.
• 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 1–3 years in a supervisory role.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing technical project-based teams.
• P&L responsibilities, ensuring project deliverables and financial goals are met through strategic decision making and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Project Managers, Process Engineers, Mechanical Technicians, Electrical Technicians, and Sub-Assembly Technicians.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee multiple concurrent custom automation projects from kickoff to FAT.
• Monitor project KPIs including margin, cost of materials, labor efficiency, changes, and milestones.
