Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking a Senior Application Developer to design, develop, and enhance software that supports reporting and configuration activities. The role focuses on improving enrollment processes and claims handling while delivering high-quality business solutions across the organization.

The position is based in a hybrid workplace model with in-office collaboration two days per week and opportunities for professional growth and leadership development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent IT experience required.
• 4-5 years in a computer-related support role.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills; project management experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows Operating System and Internet technologies.
• Proficiency with VBA, PowerShell, version control systems, and Agile project and issue tracking tools.
• Knowledge of Oracle and/or SQL Server.
• Experience with SQL development.
• Scripting PERL, Bourne, C++.
• Knowledge of WebSphere (Admin or Install Level).
• Familiarity with FileNet.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance software applications and tools that support accurate, timely reporting and configuration activities.
• Improve operational efficiency and reliability of member enrollment processes and claims processing.
• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality business solutions across the organization.
