Job summary

Westrock Company, Inc. in Atlanta, GA seeks a Technical Services Technician to support customers and field technicians by troubleshooting machinery, automation systems, and electrical controls both remotely and in the field.

Responsibilities include diagnosing PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, and networks; configuring electrical components; documenting service calls; and traveling up to 30% for installations and repairs. A technical degree and 2–5 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Automation or industrial controls technical degree preferred.
• 2-5 years' experience with servo systems, HMIs, and safety controllers.
• PLC programming experience preferred.
• Experience troubleshooting pneumatic systems, vision systems, VFDs, sensors, and safety devices.
• Experience with 230V and 480V AC electrical systems.
• Familiarity with multi-axis servo-driven equipment including Allen-Bradley and Rexroth systems.
• Ability to configure and maintain virtual machines on PCs.
• Experience troubleshooting machine Ethernet and ProfiNet networks.
• Knowledge of safety circuits, motor controls, and 24-volt control circuits.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Professional English communication skills, reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Ability to participate in a rotating 24/7 technical support schedule.
• Ability to travel up to 30%.

Responsibilities

• Respond to technical support requests via phone, email, and text.
• Diagnose and resolve machinery hardware, software, network, and control issues.
• Configure electrical replacement components before shipment.
• Document service calls and AI model training support.
• Wire, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, servo drives, HMIs.
• Assist in developing upgrade kits with wiring and programming changes.
• Participate in machine programming, testing, installation, and validation.
• Create technical bulletins, troubleshooting guides, and procedures.
• Remotely troubleshoot servo systems and machine networks.
• Travel up to 30% for installations and repairs.
• Follow safety policies and regulations.
