Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer - Automation Engineering to lead process control across the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana.

This role drives system design, commissioning, and validation for GMP manufacturing, providing mentorship and strategic direction to a growing automation team. Initial location is Parkwood West, with permanent site in Lebanon; travel may be required to support FATs and vendor engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of Automation Engineering experience in GMP manufacturing.
• Experience with design, commissioning and qualification of automated manufacturing systems (DeltaV, PLC, MES).
• Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

• Mentor process control team across design, controls philosophy and commissioning.
• Lead and coordinate process control work and project plans.
• Review financial performance and commit to targets.
• Develop and implement Automation Engineering Project Plans.
• Lead site leads and system integrator on functional requirements and design specs.
• Oversee DCS/SCADA software design, coding and testing; ensure validation.
