Lilly Medicines Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana is hiring a Sr. Principal Engineer – Automation Engineering to provide technical leadership for site automation across biologics operations, including cell culture, purification, and downstream processes.

The role emphasizes design, commissioning, qualification, and compliance within a high-demand, fast-paced manufacturing startup. The successful candidate will mentor engineers, drive control system integrations (DCS, MES, SCADA), and support capital

Qualifications

Minimum B.S. in Engineering and 8+ years in Automation Engineering, preferably in biologics.
Experience designing, developing, commissioning and validating automated manufacturing sites with DeltaV, Rockwell, Syncade, MES.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

Provide automation leadership and mentoring for process control teams.
Lead design reviews, FATs, and integration of DCS/MES systems with vendor equipment.
Develop functional requirements and control strategies for biologics operations.
Oversee validation strategies and documentation to maintain GMP compliance.
Collaborate across Process Engineering, IT, and manufacturing to enable project startup and scale-up.
