Lilly is establishing the Lilly Medicine Foundry in Lebanon, Indiana, a groundbreaking center for advanced manufacturing and drug development. The Senior Principal Engineer - Automation Engineering will drive automation strategy, lead cross-functional teams, and ensure compliant control systems for GMP operations during startup and ongoing manufacturing.

The role emphasizes mentoring, project leadership, and collaboration with Process Engineering and IT to implement DeltaV/Rockwell controls,

Qualifications

• Minimum B.S. in Engineering or Science with Automation Engineering experience.
• 8+ years in Biopharma engineering/ manufacturing.
• Experience with analytical and automation-controlled lab equipment.

Responsabilités

• Mentor process control team across design, controls philosophy, implementation, and commissioning.
• Lead process control work implementation and coordination.
• Develop and implement the Automation Engineering Project Plan.
• Technically lead site leads and System Integrator on functional requirements and design specs.
• Lead design reviews and participate in FATs.
• Own site-wide administration strategy for Laboratory and Analytical equipment and data integration.
• Partner on Empower, LIMS, MES and ELN touchpoints and provide design input.
• Lead Analytical Systems Support Engineers and Associate Engineer.
• Oversee commissioning by automation engineers and report to Project Management.
• Develop functional requirements and control strategies with Process Engineering.
• Maintain validated state of site control systems per Lilly quality standards.
