Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a highly experienced engineer to lead instrumentation, controls and related systems design on complex projects. You will guide teams using 3D/4D drafting, prepare technical memos, and coordinate with clients to define requirements and deliverables.

The role includes leading field testing, LOEs, startup documentation, and mentoring junior staff. Travel 20–40% may be required; contribute to proposals and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
• 12 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Leads teams to design instrumentation, controls and related systems using 3D/4D drafting.
• Develops technical memos and preliminary design reports.
• Defines user requirements with clients and documents technical requirements.
• Reviews shop drawings and supports FATs and field inspections.
• Develops operations & maintenance manuals and training for end users.
• Leads proposals and client presentations; expands contracts.
