Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to design and review PLC and HMI solutions and related systems on civil and environmental projects in the United States.

You will create P&IDs, control system architectures, and assist with testing and startup, while mentoring junior staff and supporting proposals.

Travel up to 20–40% may be required. A Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• 5 years of related experience.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Creates instrumentation and control system designs using 3D/4D design practices.
• Assists with specification development and PLC/HMI programming.
• Reviews basic to highly complex component drawings and assists with testing oversight.
• Leads staff and mentors junior staff; supports proposals and marketing activities.
