Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems.

Work with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print/apply, and SCADA devices. You will drive proactive controls automation, develop system designs, and contribute to site throughput while ensuring safety and reliability in fast-paced

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic and structure programming experience.
4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues; support automation engineers to investigate root cause and plan actions to minimize downtime.
Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and safety to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks (PLC/PC, Ethernet, Profibus, etc.).
Monitor MHE metrics and work with maintenance to address performance issues.
Provide escalation support during/after hours to ensure repairs are completed on time.
Move up to 49 lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders, bend, lift, and reach as required.
