Job summary

Amazon in Baltimore is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in our fulfillment centers. You will lead cross-functional teams, mentor juniors, and drive improvements across MHE systems with state-of-the-art technology.

You will troubleshoot complex controls, analyze performance metrics, and implement innovative projects to enhance throughput and uptime, while ensuring safety and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years PLC programming or automation experience.
Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic experience.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and dive deep into engineering issues to minimize downtime of critical assets.
Collaborate with Operations teams and software groups to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
Understand, maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/operations partners.
Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure timely repairs.
