Job summary

Amazon Inc. seeks a Senior Automation Engineer in Aurora, CO to maximize equipment reliability and performance in fulfillment centers.

You will lead proactive controls automation, mentor junior engineers, and drive cross-functional projects across MHE systems, conveyors, scanners, and SCADA devices. You will design improvements, troubleshoot complex control systems, and guide teams to enhance site throughput while maintaining safety and uptime.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, automation, or equivalent, or 4+ years PLC/automation experience.
4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production.
4+ years robotics work cells and control systems.
4+ years Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys ladder logic programming.
Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Ability to move up to 49 lbs and perform physical duties.

Responsibilities

Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deeps for engineering issues, supporting automation engineers to investigate root cause.
Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software and safety teams to optimize MHE systems and implement projects.
Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems including PLCs and industrial networks.
Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance to address performance issues and analyze data.
Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure repairs are completed on time.
