Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Systems Engineer to support Clinical and Commercial Drug Substance plant operations. You will work within the MCS-F&E Automation team to implement complex automation initiatives across DeltaV DCS, Rockwell PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA, with emphasis on lifecycle management and continuous improvement.

The role requires strong problem solving, project management, and regulatory compliance experience, including 21 CFR Part 11 and GMP practices.

Qualifications

• Extensive background in programming, design, installation, and lifecycle management of manufacturing process controls, automation, and field instrumentation technologies.
• Hands-on experience in developing process control strategies in Clinical/Commercial Drug Substance plant operations.
• Familiarity with Upstream and Downstream unit operations.
• Direct knowledge of automation design and troubleshooting with GMP biopharmaceutical production equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain process control automation solutions using DeltaV DCS and Rockwell PLCs.
• Lead/root-cause analysis, incident investigations and troubleshooting for automation issues in plant operations.
• Own change control, CAPA and deviations related to automation systems.
• Support projects to improve process equipment, cleaning systems and utilities for reliability.
• Lead new technology introductions through assessments and configuration changes.
