$110,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr

Title: Senior Automation Engineer

Salary: $110k-$140k/yr. based on experience

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Senior Automation Engineer. This opportunity is with a leading manufacturer of pigments and colorants for coatings, cosmetics, plastics, inks, and more for the automotive and healthcare industries. Job Duties:

  • Analyze manufacturing systems to identify areas for efficiency, productivity, and safety improvements.
  • Lead the integration of new equipment and automation technologies for maximum impact.
  • Oversee automated systems (both remotely and in-person) to troubleshoot issues and reduce downtime.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing team of technicians providing 24/7 automation support.
  • Drive Lean methodologies and 5S initiatives with cross-functional teams.
  • Support project managers and engineers on robotics and automation projects.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety regulations, including PSM principles, PSSR, PHA, and JHA.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • 7–10 years of manufacturing engineering experience, focusing on robotics, automation, and process optimization.
  • Proven experience in cost engineering and Lean manufacturing tools (e.g., VSM).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project, AutoCAD, and PLC Systems & Architecture.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing and supervisory roles is a plus.
