Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Automation and Controls Engineer, Satellites (Starlink) in Redmond to design, develop, and manage high‑rate satellite manufacturing automation. You will lead multi‑disciplinary projects spanning machine design, robotics, motion systems, and factory health monitoring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or computer science.
• 5+ years in industrial automation design and implementation or electro‑mechanical/robotic systems.
• Strong problem solving and cross‑functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and manage automation projects from ideation to hand‑off.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC code for high‑volume manufacturing.
• Ensure ANSI/RIA15.06/OSHA compliant safety for robots and conveyors.
• Create simple, intuitive HMI screens for complex machines.
• Design electrical systems compliant with NEC, NFPA, UL508A.
• Manage schedules and budgets and motivate the team.
