Valar Atomics is actively seeking a Staff Automation and Controls Engineer to own the controls software architecture for reactor and fuel facilities. You will lead PLC/DCS programming, SCADA/HMI design, ISA-88 batch control, and alarm management, while coordinating with I&C hardware and process engineers to deliver safe, scalable systems.

You will set coding standards, review others’ work, and mentor software engineers, ensuring disciplined engineering records and compliance with nuclear quality

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer, Systems Engineering, or related field required.
• 8+ years of controls software, PLC programming, or SCADA development in process industries.
• End-to-end ownership of controls software on at least one major capital project.
• Experience leading code reviews and setting software standards.
• Expert-level PLC programming across IEC 61131-3 languages on major platforms.
• Experience with ISA-88 batch architecture, ISA-18.2 alarm systems, and ISA-101/HPHMI.
• OT network architecture and cybersecurity practices per IEC 62443 / NIST SP 800-82.

Responsabilidades

• Own the PLC and DCS application architecture for assigned facilities.
• Own SCADA and HMI architectures across platforms like Ignition, FactoryTalk, AVEVA, WinCC.
• Develop ISA-88 batch models, alarm strategies, and safety logic under IEC 61511.
• Lead design reviews, testing plans, and commissioning activities; mentor engineers.
• Maintain nuclear quality documentation and change-control practices.
