Job summary

Samson Rose is seeking a Staff/Principal Automation & Controls Engineer to help develop and deploy advanced robotic manufacturing and automation systems. This hands-on role covers PLC programming, industrial electrical systems, machine safety, automation architecture, factory data, and equipment commissioning.

The ideal candidate is a strong controls generalist with 7+ years of manufacturing experience, excellent problem-solving, and the ability to work 100% onsite in Southern California.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on industrial automation in a manufacturing environment.
• IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming.
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems and machine safety.
• Willingness to work 100% onsite in a manufacturing/factory environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment and factory modules.
• Develop automation software standards, frameworks, best practices, and engineering processes.
• Lead automation projects from architecture through design, implementation, integration, and commissioning.
• Develop controls for new manufacturing processes in an R&D environment.
• Mentor engineers and help establish engineering standards and best practices.
