Job summary

Samson Rose is seeking a Mechanical Design Project Lead Engineer to guide a team delivering complex automation systems. You will manage mechanical design activities, coordinate with electrical and controls teams, and drive technical proposals, timelines, and cost estimates with stakeholders.

The role emphasizes mentoring mechanical designers, supporting production through assembly and testing, and contributing to client design reviews and training on machine architecture.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in managing mechanical projects, preferably in automation and robotics.
• Strong technical background and team management skills.
• Knowledge of mechanical design software (SolidWorks, SolidEdge, etc.).
• Knowledge of safety regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the mechanical design team delivering automation and robotics projects, managing progress, communication, and replanning as needed.
• Partner with electrical, controls, and cross-functional teams to plan and execute projects aligned with technical and contractual requirements.
• Own technical proposals, timelines, and cost estimates in collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Support production through assembly and testing, driving design clarifications, updates, and technical changes.
• Mentor and develop mechanical designers, supporting training and professional growth.
• Support project kickoffs, client design reviews, technical documentation, and customer training on machine architecture.
