Job summary

Divergent in Los Angeles builds and deploys advanced automated systems for critical industries. The Staff/Principal Automation & Controls Engineer will architect PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS) and lead cross-functional teams through design, development and commissioning.

The role requires extensive experience in industrial automation, strong knowledge of safety standards, and a hands-on, mentorship driven leadership style in a fast-growing

Qualifications

• IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming experience.
• Industrial electrical and safety experience.
• 7 years of industrial automation controls experience.
• Lawful access to information and technology subject to US export controls.

Responsibilities

• Develop PLC, HMI & SCADA software & controls architectures for DAPS factories.
• Support automation software standards, frameworks, and platform selection.
• Mentor teammates and drive hands-on execution under tight timelines.
• Lead design, development and commissioning of factory modules and data platforms.
