Job summary

Samson Rose in Southern California seeks a Staff/Principal Automation & Controls Engineer to design and deploy robotic manufacturing systems. The role spans PLC programming, electrical systems, machine safety, automation architecture, factory data, and commissioning.

You’ll lead architecture development, set engineering standards, mentor engineers, and own problems across automation domains in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on industrial automation experience in manufacturing.
• Strong IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming.
• Hands-on experience with industrial electrical systems and machine safety.
• Willingness to work 100% onsite in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems for advanced manufacturing equipment.
• Lead development from concept through commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and establish engineering standards and practices.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and keep projects moving.
